The Stage Forward Fund
Our flagship initiative supporting new theatrical creation, artist advancement, and Jewish creative leadership.
This fund invests in the development of new works, residencies, and mentorship opportunities for artists in our community. Applications are closed at the moment.

Studio Theatre and Rehearsal Studio Rentals
Our Studio Theatre and Rehearsal Studios are available for rent to guest companies. Studio Theatre rentals include access to our technical, production, Box Office, and Front of House support teams. Rehearsal studios are equipped with pianos, sound systems, and other amenities to meet a variety of production needs.

Jewish Arts Mentorship (J.A.M.)
A season-long mentorship program for emerging artists whose work engages with Jewish themes or identity.
Participants receive one-on-one mentorship, peer discussions, and access to Segal spaces to develop their projects.

Workshops
Throughout the year, the Segal Centre hosts professional development workshops led by industry experts — such as the Musical Theatre Audition Techniques Workshop, and The Director’s Process: From Page to Stage — to help artists refine their skills and expand their practice.

Montreal Jewish Arts Collaborative
The Montreal Jewish Arts Collaborative (MJAC) is an initiative by the Museum of Jewish Montreal, KlezKanada, and the Segal Centre for Performing Arts to support emerging Jewish artists and cultural creators in Montreal. It provides opportunities for artists, such as free makerspaces for visual artists and musicians, and microgrants to help fund creative projects.

The Segal Centre periodically holds auditions for upcoming productions. When auditions are announced, they will appear on:

The Segal Centre participates in the Quebec Drama Federation (QDF)’s annual general auditions.

The Segal Centre provide unique performance opportunities that bring local talent to our stages in creative and community-driven ways.
Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theatre (DWYT)
Rooted in community, the DWYT is a treasured part of what makes the Segal Centre a vital force in Montreal’s cultural mosaic. Along with its annual productions, the DWYT also presents an annual Holiday Concert, open to all, offering opportunities for both new and returning community members to take part in its vibrant Yiddish theatre tradition.

Each season, artists are invited to perform in a special fundraising concert celebrating our community’s talent.
This is your chance to shine on the Segal stage while supporting our artistic and educational programs.

Broadway Café
Our signature open-mic night with live piano accompaniment! A place where emerging and professional musical theatre performers share their favourite showtunes in a warm and supportive environment. No matter your experience, we’ll cheer you on and be your backup singers. Come strut your stuff, promote your upcoming show, or connect with other artists.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR DISCOUNTS AND ACCESS
We value our artist community and want to make our diverse programming accessible to you.
Industry Nights & Union Discounts
- On Mondays, artists can purchase $20 Industry Night tickets, available one hour before showtime.
- Members of recognized cultural unions can access additional discounts via our Cultural Partners page.
Student & Under 30 Tickets
With our Class Act pass, students and theatre-lovers under 30 can access exclusive $20 tickets for our main stage shows. This is your opportunity to see more for much less!
Rush Tickets
$40 Rush Tickets are available to everyone one hour before showtime – subject to availability. Please present yourself in person at our Box Office for tickets.
Dress Rehearsal Invitations
Artists who sign up for our artist mailing list will occasionally receive invitations to attend dress rehearsals and previews free of charge!
