An Important Update Regarding Our Covid Policy

In line with government guidelines, the Segal Centre will no longer be asking for proof of vaccination when coming to the theatre. This comes at a time when Quebec has over 80% of the population with at least 2 doses of the vaccine and is seeing a gradual lifting of restrictions.

While no specific date has been set, we understand that the lifting of the mask requirement could come in April or May. For the time being, we will continue to require masks in all our venues, up to and including the performances of April Fools and The Sages of Chelm and our current sanitary measures will remain in place. This is consistent with the commitments we have made with our artists, staff, and audiences to ensure their safety.

We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to seeing you at the theatre.

The health and safety of everyone at the Segal Centre is our top priority. The following measures are in place for all individuals arriving on our premises:

  • A “COVID Officer” is on duty at all times ensuring that all safety protocols are being followed
  • Procedural masks must be worn by everyone at all times while in the building, even when in your assigned seat, for the duration of the performance. Upon arrival, a member of the Front of House staff will provide patrons with a new surgical-grade disposable mask.
  • Contact tracing based on ticket scans or pre-sale lists. However, if you are showing any unaccounted-for COVID symptoms, or if you cannot pass a brief verbal questionnaire, you will not be allowed into the Segal Centre.
  • Social distancing encouraged at all times while circulating in the building
  • Hand sanitizing stations throughout the Segal Centre
  • Increased cleaning, disinfection, and sanitizing of all public areas
  • Staggered entrances and exits of patrons
  • During the performance, patrons are asked to remain in their seats and remain seated when the performance ends. Front of House personnel will dismiss patrons by row and section.
  • The air circulation system has been optimized.
  • Pre- and post- show socializing will be monitored and time spent in common areas may be limited at the discretion of the Front of House Manager or COVID Officer. We encourage you to share your thoughts about the play online on social media. You can follow us on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.

Because news regarding COVID is constantly changing, the Segal Centre is following all updates and guideline amendments closely. As such, this list is continually evolving and subject to change at any time.

We have the utmost care for the health and safety of our patrons and our teams, and are committed to making your visit to the theatre one you can enjoy confidently and securely.
