An enriching pre-show discussion!

Since Boy Falls From The Sky is a showbiz tell-all that explores the perspective of a life-long performer climbing the ranks of the theatre, TV, and film industries, this edition of Sunday @ the Segal will be a one-on-one interview with one of Canada’s most respected agents, Shari Quallenberg of AMI Artists. This discussion will be hosted by our incomparable 2023-2024 season host, Sarah Deshaies (CJAD radio)!

2023-2024 season host

Sarah Deshaies is a radio producer, host and theatre critic based in Montreal. She currently produces the Andrew Carter Morning Show on CJAD 800, and co-hosts CKUT's theatre program, Upstage, where, for the last decade, she has interviewed actors, directors and other artists from all around the world. Sarah's writing on Montreal theatre has been published in the Montreal Gazette and Cult Montreal. Her love for theatre was kindled at the Segal Centre, where she once played a tree in a children's drama program and started seeing grownups plays with her mom. You can follow her on X @sarahdeshaies. Upstage airs Thursdays at 6 p.m. on 90.3FM.

Shari has had a successful career in the entertainment industry for over 25 years. Originally from Montreal, Shari moved to Toronto to attend University and graduated with an Honours BFA in Inter-related arts where she studied Theatre, Film & Television. While in University, Shari established a theatre troupe for young people. Following the success of her programs, Shari became the choir director for Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat starring Donny Osmond. Her ability to pick out the stars in her program led her to run the youth department at The Talent Group. After her Talent Group days, Shari opened her own agency in 1999. Wanting a more diverse agency, Shari collaborated with Noelle Jenkinson to rebrand the agency as AMI Artist Management Inc., which just celebrated its 20-year anniversary.

Shari has distinguished herself as one of Canada’s most respected agents representing talent in Film, Television and Live Theatre. Her clients work regularly in Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles, New York and everywhere in between. She is a regular contributor to the media as well as serving as a panelist and on committees for both ACTRA & EQUITY. Shari also adjudicates emerging talent at conferences, showcases, schools, and independent programs across North America.

Shari loves Broadway Musicals, Bewitched, Snoopy, shopping, and all things chocolate.
