Broadway Café: High Notes - Miscast 2.0 Edition

Apr 20, 2024 - Apr 20, 2024 | Studio | 8 pm

Broadway Café is the Segal Centre’s beloved Broadway karaoke night with live piano accompaniment!

COVID can’t keep our queens Erin Yardley-Jones and Augusta Wind away for too long! They are back for a re-do of the Broadway Café they missed in December, and they are ready to light up the stage. Bring your best miscast showtunes (sing something you would not normally be cast for) and get ready to get wacky!

SIGN UP TO SING HERE: https://forms.gle/Rs87oeXiA7xF3ZBf8

HOW IT WORKS:

    • VIRTUAL SIGN-UP: you must sign up to sing at the link above before 4 p.m. the day of the event.
    • The order of performances will be drawn at random live the night of the event. We’ll do our best to get to as many singers as possible, you can help us by picking a song that is under 3 – 4 minutes.
    • When the hosts call your name, you will have a chance to consult with the pianist before singing. All our pianists are experts at sight-reading and will be able to accompany you and make you feel comfortable.
    • Our “one song rule” remains in effect. We will let everyone sing once before anyone can sing a second time. Solos, duets, trios, and group songs all count as your one song, so choose wisely.
    • The only exception to this rule is preview numbers of upcoming musicals. These must be booked in advance and will not count towards your “one song”. We will even promote your production on our Broadway Café Facebook page. For more info or to reserve a preview spot, message us on social media or send an email to mthompson@segalcentre.org
    • The themes are just for fun! Use the prompt as inspo or sing whatever your heart desires.
    • Click here for a list of the songbooks available onsite. If you have a specific song you’d like to sing we’d recommend bringing your own sheet music to be sure.
    • Please bring your sheet music on double-sided and three-hole punched paper.
    • Seating is general admission. This is not a show so you can feel free to get up and move around as needed. The bar will be open throughout and concessions are allowed in the theatre.
    • Broadway Café is a warm, supportive, and welcoming environment open to singers of all skill levels. We will cheer you on and be your backup singers no matter what!
    • Amongst its many perks, Class Act offers members -50% off on tickets to Broadway Café as well as a -10% at the bar. Find out more about this amazing subscription package for students and under 30.
    • This event is recommended for 16+

Erin Yardley-Jones' Headshot

Erin Yardley-Jones
Erin Yardley-Jones is a film & theatre actor from Montreal. At a young age, Erin surrounded herself with movie musicals causing her to develop the ambitious dream of becoming an actor. Erin is a John Abbott Professional Theatre graduate. During her time in Cegep, she fell in love with dance, clown, and creative movement while portraying many characters like Mephistopheles in Dr. Faustus, Benjy in Fifteen Dogs, and Sarah in Innocence Lost. Nowadays, Erin is living her dream of being an actor. You might have seen her as Sally in Reefer Madness (Contact Theatre) or recently as Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Show (Mainline). She also teaches drama and dance to children and teens in the West Island. Erin is so excited to host her first Broadway Café, especially alongside her long-time BFF: Augusta Wind. If she could play any Miscast character it would have to be The Rum Tum Tugger from Cats because who wouldn’t want to play a cat in leather?
