at the Segal Centre for Performing Arts is Montreal’s premier alternative screening venue dedicated to promoting independent film and video. CinemaSpace
responds to the necessity of creating bridges between cinema and visual and performing arts through its commitment to showcase a wide range of innovative works that go beyond the boundaries of conventional cinema. Its programming encompasses local, national and international productions and invites artists, scholars and specialists to foster critical dialogue and exchange with the audience. CinemaSpace
aims to expand the awareness and appreciation of the multifaceted world of moving-image art.
In order to introduce the remarkable diversity of artistic creation that continues to redefine our perception of what cinema can be, CinemaSpace’s annual programming series is structured around three main sections: Crossover, Lightstruck and Parallax Views. Each of them represents a particular curatorial direction, creating at the same time coherent links with the other sections.
