For 2009-2010 the Segal Centre proudly welcomes "Routes--Montreal"- CBC Radio's well-known music series that promotes local and national songwriting talent. Come experience the stars of tomorrow today in the intimate and inspiring acoustical environment of the Studio. The four part concert series is recorded live and is then heard across the country on CBC's program "Canada Live."

Over the years, Routes--Montreal has showcased roots, world, jazz and pop-based songwriters and musicians. Hundreds of performers have played the Routes stage and thousands of CBC listeners have attended these tapings. You never know who will turn up - but you'll always have a great time being part of the Routes experience.

Elisapie Isaac was born of an Inuk mother and a Newfoundland father. She was adopted at birth by an Inuit family and was raised in the isolated community Salluit, Nunavik - the Great North. For the past 10 years she has been based in Montreal  where she co-founded the group Taima, which toured throughout the world. This taping will be her debut performance - an inspired blend of  Inuit/Western folk and pop featuring brand new material from her her solo CD called "There will be Stars”. A unique artist with an intriguing voice, Elisapie Isaac sings in English, Innu, and French.

Courtney Wing is a brilliant singer/songwriter who has completed two albums - ‘For the Good Times’ (2001) and ‘Starlight Shuffle’ (2005 - distributed by Maple Music) . He has performed extensively across Canada and the U.S. and currently resides in Montreal where he is putting the final touches on his third release ‘Bouquet of Might and Fury’ – due out fall 2009. A rising star with an unique voice, Courtney  will perform in a duo setting, and is preparing  intimate arrangements of brand new material.
