Perpetuum Productions presents the DVD launch event for the remastered version of Ezra Soiferman's documentary Man of Grease (2000), about now-retired Cosmos chef Tony Koulakis.
The heartwarming and offbeat film about the NDG eatery will be shown in its entirety (50 mins.) along with a preview of select bonus features from the DVD’s 2 hours of bonus features. The film’s director, Ezra Soiferman, and its editor and DVD designer, Mika Goodfriend, will be present to introduce the film and sign copies of the film afterwards. DVDs will be on sale after the screening for $19.99 each including taxes, cash only. There will be a holiday–gift–friendly buy–3–get–1–free promotion.
With a score by Montreal klezmer/hip–hop phenomenon Socalled, who created a custom ‘Greek–hop’ aural tapestry for the movie, this is the first time Man of Grease is being released on DVD. The DVD contains 2 hours of bonus features lovingly compiled by the film’s editor and DVD designer, Mika Goodfriend.
Originally released in 2000, the critically acclaimed cult–hit documentary played at 8 film festivals, had 46 TV broadcasts across 7 Canadian networks and was nominated for a 2001 Quebec Jutra Award for Best Documentary.
