CinemaSpace is proud to present QUEEN OF THE SUN, an alternative and profound look at the global bee crisis by award-winning documentary filmmaker Taggart Siegel. JARDIN DU SOLEIL, a short visual poem that revolves around solar panels in Italy and France, will precede the film.
Bees have been disappearing in huge numbers with serious and potentially catastrophic consequences. QUEEN OF THE SUN explores this phenomenon, called Colony Collapse Disorder, by exposing the struggles of beekeepers, scientists and philosophers from around the world, including Michael Pollan, Gunther Hauk and Vandana Shiva, to understand and fight this crisis.
Drawing from Austrian scientist Rudolf Steiner's 1923 prediction that bees would disappear in 80 to 100 years, QUEEN OF THE SUN shows the bond between humans and bees, once a sacred partnership, has become a complicated, profit-driven, industrial enterprise. This ultimately positive and uplifting film presents both the problems and the solutions in renewing a culture in balance with nature.
JARDIN DU SOLEIL by French painter, sculptor and experimental filmmaker Rose Lowder is a whimsical, dreamlike examination of light, from natural light to solar panels.
