Coup de Coeur "Our friends at SideMart Theatrical Grocery are closing the Centaur season with Haunted Hillbilly. The production was workshopped and premiered right here at the Segal Studio. Graham Cuthbertson did a masterful job adapting the novel into a Country and Western vampire musical. Matthew Barber's music moves from haunting to toe tapping. Greg Kramer (who is spending his days writing our Sherlock Holmes) is delightfully disturbing and sinister. Danny Brochu created a character for the ages in Erskine Mole. Sarah Yaffe's lighting is dazzling. Andrew Shaver did a heck of a job rustling the SideMartians. Not for the youngins or those with delicate sensibilities: with a mess of cussin', it is as profane as it is brilliant. Plays until June 3rd at Centaur Theatre. PS Congrats to Centaur General Manager Chuck Childs on winning the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres' Mallory Gilbert Leadership Award and Black Theatre Workshop's Adele Benoit for the protégé prize. Chuck's an inspiration to us all in Montreal Theatre." – Paul Flicker
