Over the years, Routes--Montreal has showcased roots, world, jazz and pop-based songwriters and musicians. Hundreds of performers have played the Routes stage and thousands of CBC listeners have attended these tapings. You never know who will turn up - but you'll always have a great time being part of the Routes experience.
Land of Talk is a Montreal trio fronted by singer/songwriter Elizabeth Powell. In October 2008 they released their first full-length album called Some Are Lakes which included the Myspace hit of the same name which has over 230,000 hits so far. Their tour with Broken Social Scene last year drew the attention of Jian Ghomeshi and the folks at CBC's "Q" who featured Elizabeth for a full length interview. This Routes--Montreal concert will feature brand new material from their upcoming CD. For this concert, the band will perform with The Besnard Lakes’ Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas. Land of Talk is one of Canada’s most exciting young bands and front woman Elizabeth Powell is an established songwriter with a unique vocal presence. The combination of combination of Powell , Lasek , and Goreas will make for a special evening at the Segal Centre.
